Tai Chi for Older Adults
Providence Tai Chi took part in "The Fall Prevention Study" in 2005, funded by a grant from the Administration on Aging in conjunction with The University of Rhode Island and The Jewish Senior Agency of Rhode Island.
Since 2000, I have been teaching Tai Chi and Balance Workshops primarily with a mature population. I have developed a program which aims to enhance the balance and overall health of all my students. This includes Tai Chi exercises to soften connecting tissues, improve balance and help students relax.
The classes vary depending on the students and their particular needs. I teach classes at older adult centers, assisted living facilities, adult day care centers and privately.
